2008 Calendar of Events

Summer 2008: We will be having midweek reconnaissance rides to check out a long list of other possible ride sites. If you have an interest in going on these journeys call me at 330-847-3653.The first one will be to the Westline Inn in of all places Westline,PA.

July 19/20: Overnighter Dover area. Warther museum, Breitenbach winery and Canton Classic Car Museum on the way home Sunday. Approx. 160 miles round trip. Points of interest: Warther Museum, Breitenbach Winery, Canton Classic Car Museum 

Time frame: Mid morning Saturday to late afternoon Sunday. For specifics call Dick Beyerle 330-847-3653 or e-mail at rbeyerle@neo.rr.com by 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 16. If we have less than 4 participants we will scrub the trip.

August 10: Overnighter Pickerington area. AMA motorcycle museum and stop at the Mansfield Reformatory on the way back ( where parts of Shawshank Redemption and Air Force One were filmed). The building is being restored and looks like a castle that should be high on a ridge overlooking the Rhein. Approx. 320 miles.

TBA: Originally scheduled for June 29 this ride was canceled do to rain. It will be rescheduled as it is a winner. Moundsville Penitentiary and Cabela’s: a prison from the historic register, 818 Jefferson Ave. Moundsville, WVA. Arrive at 12:00 for 1-2 hour tour and then into Wheeling to visit Cabela’s. A group will leave the Post House at 10:00am. Approx. 250 miles round trip. Details will be firmed up as we get closer to trip dates.

NO DECEMBER MEETINGS: It was decided to dispense with meetings for the month of December.

AFTER HOLIDAY BANQUET, Jan 10, 2009: To again hold our After Holiday Banquet at the Buena Vista Café , in Warren, OH. The party will start at 6:00 pm, with serving at 6:30 pm. Included in the price are hot or iced tea, and coffee. Pop will be 2.50 a glass and there will be a cash bar. As in previous years we encourage everyone to invite like-minded folks to the banquet. We need an RSVP as to whether you are going to attend by January 3, 2008. RSVP to Larry Elliott at leotlarry@aol.com.

CLEVELAND MOTORCYCLE SHOW: The club will be working the Cleveland Motorcycle Show Jan 30, 31 and Feb 1. We will be greeters for our club and motorcycling in general. Depending on the level of participation some of us will receive free passes. Please contact Erie Conover if you are interested in participating and what day.
