Tim Pitts

tim.pitts@sbcglobal.net

Tim Pitts’ background is sales with a specialty in pure new business development. He has been motorcycling since 1967 when he purchased his first bike, a Honda 160. In 1970, Tim was invited by fellow Air Force friends to make a cross country camping trip. In preparation for this journey Tim purchased his first BMW, a 1968 R50. With 30 days of leave they set out for California—all on BMWs. All three also shared a common history of being active Boy Scouts in their youth and put these skills to good use cooking around the campfire. In his own words the trip turned out to be, “one of the best trips of my life.”

Later he had a Gold Wing and attended the first two WingDings, which were held in Steamboat Springs, CO in the early 80s. In 1985 he purchased a K100RT and rode it from Los Angeles to Ohio by way of Wyoming in seven great days. In the 1990's Tim had a R1100RT but now rides R1200RT.

Dick Beyerle

BMWMOA # 26138

rbeyerle@neo.rr.com

Dick Beyerle’s motorcycle career started with a beautiful ivory and green Monarch motorbike with a fore and aft two cylinder, two stroke engine. Four BMWs, four Yamahas, a Gilera, a Triumph Bonneville and a large handful of others along the way we still find an R65, an R100RT and a FJR 1300 in his garage. Part of this obsession flowed to and from a long career as a mechanical engineer (now retired) designing all sorts of industrial processing equipment. Installing said equipment has taken him to various corners of the globe, particularly Germany, where he reconnected with BMW. Dick’s wife Donna is a soon to be retired licensed funeral director and always game riding partner. Their first National Rally in York, PA astride of a R60/7 convinced her that this was the group to enjoy. Since then they have attended the Lima, Ohio and Vermont Rallies with fond memories. They also share archery and winemaking as hobbies when not on two wheels.

Larry Elliot

Motorcycles have been a part of my life since I was in my early 20’s. During the past few decades I have owned and ridden a variety of bikes including the BMW Cruiser but my current ride is a 2002 Kawasaki Concours. I’m an advocate of safe riding and have taken the Motorcycle Enrichment Course. I also believe in personal safety gear including helmets. I’m happily married and have been employed for the past 36 years at Delphi Packard as a Stationary Engineer.
